Fundamental Areas / Numerical Analysis of Partial Differential Equations
A planar optical concentrator is shown on the left figure. It consists of a solar cell, a periodically multi-layered isotropic dielectric (PMLID) material, an ITO layer acting as anti-reflection coating and a buffer layer that reduces the reflection between the solar cell and the PMLID material. A simulation of the intensity of the electric field using a finite element method is displayed on the right. More details in:
